Hi there,
I’m Suzanne! Thanks so much for stopping by to peek in on my every day life doing Andydayeveryday. Somehow, someway caring for my son, Andy, every day turned into me eventually finding out what I was meant to do! Each day I care for, direct, encourage and learn from not only Andy, but all 4 of my guys. Yeah, that’s right, I live with a bunch of men!  Let me tell you more!
Andy’s my first born and I was a teen mom when he arrived nine weeks early on New Years Day! He came in with a bang weighing only about two pounds, collapsed lungs, and a few months later a Down Syndrome diagnosis with heart surgery. Whew! It was a tough start, but day by day, Andydayeveryday, we beat the odds (both of us) and with Andy at the center of it all, I raised him and his sister (she’s married with 2 girlies!) as a single mom. Eventually, I found real meaning and purpose in living out Andydayeveryday, which led to me leaving my business career for full-time caregiving and mentoring. My youngest son, Dawson, grew up with big brother (Andy) in the house, and so all my kids have been touched by the Andydayeveryday kind of living!
Mason moved in with me the summer of 2012 and Shawn arrived in March of 2018. These young men happen to have special needs and are both involved in a unique program where they receive their necessary services by living with a Mentor (that’s me)! I know what you’re thinking and so, with their permission, let me answer your questions! Yes, that means they live with me, my sons, and our doggie, in my house. Yes, I am their encourager, cheerleader, and give them guidance. Yes, they make their own decisions. No, they are not adopted. Yes, they visit their own loving families. And, yes, they help with the dishes! These guys work hard to accomplish their goals and I’m stunned by their determination and zest for doing great!
Listen, I didn’t choose this path, and it was not easy giving up my dreams for my responsibilities. But, geeesh, I am shocked and flabbergasted by how really hard stuff can turn around. Yes, demanding, heart wrenching, and stress filled days can become peaceful, refreshing and downright hilarious.  How can it be?
“…Humanly speaking it is impossible.  But, with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 NLT
Living Andydayeveryday changed everything and I never could have imagined how Downs Syndrome could bring out the best! Me and my guys…we’re living the good life and we wish everyone had some of it! And, so here we share our amazing and silly stories!
Before you go, think about it! What’s fascinating in your everyday? Let us know, me and my guys would love to hear from you!
